Problem resolution

A brutal fact of organisational life is that HR practitioners spend an inordinate amount of time dealing with employment disputes. Disputes can be about so many things: harassment, medical issues, interpersonal conflict, misconduct, restraint of trade, bullying, stress, contractual terms, job performance, redundancy, organisational change, upskilling, pay, issues outside the workplace, gossip… You name it, and it’s bound to be an issue in your organisation at some stage. However, not many organisations have the expertise in advocacy, negotiation, mediation, dispute resolution and disciplinary procedures to safely manage employment disputes. I’ve encountered all kinds of difficult situations in my career, and I work with organisations to manage personal grievance claims, conduct legally-defensible investigations, resolve disputes, manage and exit underperforming staff, and coach managers to deal with problem employees.
