HR audit

It isn’t often that I’m asked to carry out an audit of an organisation’s HR practices. It’s more common to be asked to address a specific issue, which invariably involves assessing most other aspects of the organisation’s practices. A problem in one area is often a pointer to more systemic issues, so something in the nature of an audit ends up being carried out anyway. Still, it’s an excellent idea to proactively evaluate an organisation’s HR practices, and I do so from time to time.
